Your Details, Kept Simple.

What happens to the details you send me through the brief form, who else handles them, how long I keep them, and how to see or delete them.

Who I am

True Mode is TRUE MODE LTD, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 13704716. I run it and I answer every brief myself.

Registered office: Flat 4, 2 Millers Hill, Ramsgate, Kent, CT11 7EZ.

ICO registration number: 00014468060.

For the details you send me, TRUE MODE LTD is the controller: it decides how they're used and is responsible for them.

What I collect

  • What you type into the brief form: the services you pick, your website address and platform, the problem and project description, when you'd like to start, your budget band, a good time for a call, your name and email address, and the box you tick to say I can reply.
  • A spam check when you send it: Cloudflare Turnstile looks at technical signals from your browser, such as your IP address and browser details, to tell a person from a bot.
  • What any website receives: your IP address and browser details reach the servers that deliver these pages, and page views are counted without identifying you (see Cookies).
  • Anything you email me directly: your email address and what you write.

I don't ask for, and you don't need to send, anything sensitive such as health details or payment card numbers.

Why I use it

  • To reply to your brief, book the call and quote: these are steps you've asked me to take before we might agree a contract (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(b)).
  • To keep the form free of spam and the site secure: my legitimate interest in a working, safe site (Article 6(1)(f)).
  • To see which pages are read, in total: my legitimate interest in improving the site. No cookies, and no profile of you.

I don't sell your details, add you to a mailing list or send you marketing you didn't ask for.

Who processes it

Two companies handle your details for me, only on my instructions:

  • Cloudflare hosts this site, runs the Turnstile spam check and provides cookieless Web Analytics.
  • Resend (Plus Five Five, Inc.) delivers the brief you send to my inbox by email, sending it from its Ireland region.

The brief then arrives in my Outlook inbox, provided by Microsoft, and I reply to you from there.

Transfers outside the UK. Cloudflare, Resend and Microsoft are US companies, so your details may be processed in the United States. Each is certified under the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework (the UK–US data bridge), which UK law recognises as an adequate safeguard. Cloudflare's and Resend's data processing terms also include the EU standard contractual clauses with the UK Addendum.

How long I keep it

I keep your brief and our emails for 12 months from our last contact, then delete them, unless you become a client.

If you do become a client, I keep what the work needs for as long as we work together, and the records UK tax and company law requires for as long as it requires them.

Cloudflare and Resend keep their own operational records, such as security and delivery logs, for limited periods under their own privacy terms.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies of its own and doesn't track you: Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views without cookies.

On the contact page, the Turnstile spam check runs from Cloudflare (challenges.cloudflare.com) and may keep small items in your browser that it needs to tell a person from a bot. Cloudflare describes these as strictly necessary; they aren't used for advertising or to follow you across other sites. See Cloudflare's Turnstile privacy addendum.

Two small items are kept in your browser's session storage, for the open tab only: a draft of your brief while you fill it in, so a reload doesn't lose it, and a flag that smooths the change from one page to the next. Both are cleared when you close the tab, and neither is sent to me or used to track you.

Your rights

Under UK data-protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), depending on the circumstances, you can ask me to:

  • give you a copy of the personal data I hold about you;
  • correct anything that's wrong;
  • delete it;
  • restrict how I use it;
  • stop using it where I rely on legitimate interests;
  • send it to you, or to someone else, in a portable format.

I normally reply within one month. If a request is complex, the law lets me take longer, and I'll tell you if I need to.

If you're unhappy with how I've handled your details, please tell me first so I can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO): ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, or Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF.
